Originally, featherbeds were just big sacks of feathers designed to sit on the top of the mattress. The downside was the feathers could easily shift to the sides and bottom. Today, most featherbeds are sewn into compartments to restrict the shifting of the feathers. Tthe featherbed we offer is sewn in a baffled box construction to help keep the feathers in place. The ticking is a 233 thread count cotton. The top of the featherbed has been quilted for added comfort. In addition, all our featherbeds come with a separate cotton cover at no addtional cost.
