Italian Blankets

The past decade has seen a significant shift in the sleeping habits of the consumer from using a blanket as the primary bed covering to using a comforter. There is still a demand for quality blankets, but the decrease in overall demand has meant a corresponding decrease in the options available to the consumer.

The common fabrics used in the manufacture of blankets are:  acrylic, cotton, wool and cashmere. We prefer to purchase the less expensive acrylic and cotton blankets from U.S. manufacturers, and purchase the very fine merino wool and cashmere blankets from Italy. The Italian manufacturer of our blankets, Lanerossi, has been making fine blankets in wool and cashmere since the 1800's (their web site is www.marzotto.com). They have the skill to take luxurious fabers and make wonderfully soft, heirloom quality blankets.
